  1. In 2009~2010 I completed all the required coursework for and University of Massachusetts Applied Linguistics online program. However just when I was studying and preparing for their comprehensive exam to get my degree when I lost my job and had to put my studies on hold. I was working full time teaching English in Japan at the time and my visa was set to expire soon and I needed a job to be able to renew it. After everything settled down too much time had passed for me to be confident enough to feel confident enough to pass the exam. To make things worse in that time the University changed all their login system and e-mail systems making it very difficult for me to reconnect early. Now I find myself here so many years later with thousands of dollars spent, four semesters worth of courses and no degree in sight. I wish there was some way to do research or a thesis related to my work teaching in Japan but whenever I look for options I cant find much of anything. Every time I try to figure something out I just get depressed and feel its hopeless. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
