  1. I took a basic Marketing class at UConn to determine whether or not I would be interested in a MBA couses. I then started at Stern the following fall and they are very explicit about not accepting transfer credits. In some cases you can take a proficiency exam to try to test out of the class, but you still have to complete all 60 credits or whatnot at the school that will issue your degree; you just get to take additional electives if you pass the proficiency exam.
  2. I agree with Behavioral. Recently there have even been articles written about the ROI on a MBA from Wharton. School name is everything. If your MBA is outside the T25 you are going to find yourself having a difficult time paying the $1k/mo loan payment from the $100k degree. I obtained my MBA from NYU Stern, and the organizations that recruited at NYU (which I think was T11 last year, depending on which ranking you "trust") are amongst those that recruit from the T10, though Stern may get 2 or 3 less placement seats than a T5 school. One of my good friends earned his MBA from BU and it took him over a year to find a FT position; schools in the T25 for the most part place all their students, though all the students may not have received an offer from their personal top company. Also, good schools will really assist you in obtaining a strong position post graduation because it's vital to their statistics and ultimately their ranking. The vast majority of b-schools now accept the GRE so you should not have a problem in that regard.
  3. I received an MBA from a T15 school with an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology. I had about 4 years of work experience prior to applying. MBA programs are trying to move away from the typical finance / economics MBA candidate. I highly doubt you will have a problem getting into a good MBA program.
  4. Do adcom's ever reach out on weekends?
  5. The NYU-Wagner partnership also benefits students that are only MBA or MPA candidates. You are able to take courses at either school. I just completed my MBA at Stern (and was president of the Stern Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Association), and can confirm that there is quite a bit of "cross breeding" between the schools.
  6. @Bigbang, I misspoke. I applied through HBS. I had an open application on GSAS for a different program but did not submit through that site. Apologies if I just caused you a bit of stress.
  7. Yes, and it could be that Management is moving a bit quicker than other departments. I reached out to the admissions office before the holidays and they stated that interview invitations are sent the end of Jan, so I would expect application review to be quite active at this point.
  8. to "Application under review". Anyone else experience a status update?
  9. Has anyone received an interview invitation from HBS? I e-mailed the Admissions office and was told that interviews will be occurring from late January - late February, but didn't inquire re: interview notification dates.
