  1. I have just decided I will be attending Fletcher this fall and could not be happier with the decision. I would enjoy hearing from others who will be there as well and how you're are thinking at accommodation options and which fields of study you are interested in. Hope to hear from some of you soon.
  2. Sorry for the confusion...I was notified of admission into the China Studies program, which I believe is not capped, not in letter to by home containing the unfortunate aid info but in an earlier email from the deputy director of the program.
  3. My family received on Saturday on the west coast the small letter from SAIS. Great to be in the China Studies program but not a single dollar offered in funding. This, I suppose, make it easy to take SAIS off the list. Will hope for assistance from HKS and explore if there is a way Fletcher may be able to provide more. The best to everyone as they narrow down their choices.
  4. Has anyone heard yet on financial assistance from SAIS? This info was included in the information packets recently mailed.
  5. I am in! Feeling very fortunate. Now the wait on aid!
  6. I am living in Beijng and am much in the same boat. I have been admitted to SAIS, Fletcher, Maxwell and waiting on HKS. I am basically counting on aid (kicking myself I wasn't in a position by 1 Dec to apply for WWS) and the packages from SAIS and (hopefully...) HKS aren't in yet. As for ways to get a better idea of the schools, I've asked the admissions committees to put me in touch with recent graduates living in Beijing or with the similar areas of focus. Hopefully they'll come through next week. Other than that, thank god for these on-line chats because there's not much else we can do. Good luck and hopefully we'll both be presently surprised from SAIS with China focused aid which will make the decisions for us : )
  7. I am also in as of email a few hours ago for the DC campus...no work on funding but they indicate this info will be shared in a packet being send out on Monday. I also applied to the China track but there was no mention of this in their letter. Fingers crossed that some who haven't heard yet will get good news soon.
  8. Yes, it's true - applications will be mailed out snail mail tomorrow, and by post only...here's from the Admissions Office: "All admissions decisions will be sent via regular mail only on Friday, March 20th. Financial aid letters will be included as well. You are welcome to contact the Admissions Office approximately two weeks after March 20th if you have yet to receive an admissions letter. For more information on the SAIS admissions process, please visit http://www.sais-jhu.edu/admissions. Best regards, SAIS Admissions"
  9. Well, it's the afternoon of the 19th here in Asia and not a peep from SAIS. Ugh! Hoping we hear soon...sure this board will pick up when there's actually something to chat about. Love how we don't know how they will inform us...I'm half waiting for someone to come tap me on the shoulder and mutter the result in my ear (...don't get me started on how KSG is allegedly notifying through phone calls....) ...Sorry - clearly the wait is getting to me Does anyone know from recent years whether SAIS has informed on scholarships/fellowships/assistanceships/etc together with admissions decisions?
  10. Thanks for the information Dagger, Again at the risk of being crude, could you let us know what kind of support they were able to offer you? Congratulations and hope you are pleased with the result.
  11. "any word on funding?" I was fortunate to be accepted the MPA/IR program but haven't heard on funding yet...soon, perhaps?
