  1. Hi, Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I have't been on this site in a long time. My Gre's are 161, 161, and 4.5. I had a great MPH GPA and a terrible grades in undergrad. I got accepted in the begining of March and was offered an assistanceship last week. I will most likey accept in a day or 2.
  2. Thanks for the updated Doc. The schools are literally next to each other on some of the school rankings. All things considered, and tuition waved at each school, I would probably pick the 2nd. Over the last couple weeks, going through hypothetical decision making, on any given day I could have chosen either. Probably the 2nd more than the 1st.
  3. I would like to ask for advice, sentiment, etc. I have been admitted to 2 public health PhD programs for Fall 2012. Both are good programs and I could see myself going to either one. The problem is... The 1st school has admitted me with tuition paid for, while the 2nd has admitted me with the possibility of funding. The 1st had requested that I give them my answer by March 1st (I have since asked for an extension and they granted me until March 6th), or run the risk of losing funding. There is no way the second school is going to be able to tell me about funding by next tuesday (the 6th). From what I can tell, this contradicts the Council of Graduate School's (not legally binding) agreement... (http://www.myacpa.or...ionJune2005.pdf) I think my hand has been forced and I will accept to the 1st, knowing I may recind my acceptance. I really don't want to do this, but I don't think I have a choice. What do you think? Is anyone else in this situation?
  4. Thanks Anticipation. I am happy to have gotten in. Its between SDSU and UGA. UGA has not been very responsive to my emails; I don't know if thats a bad sign. I need to tell sdsu something by next week to get my tuition covered. Its an easy decision if there is no UGA funding. Have you made a decision?
  5. @ Anticipation - Did you receive any notice about funding? I just got my acceptance in the mail, dated 2/11, post marked 2/14. I live in san diego, so i would imagine the letter would take a little longer to get here, but 2 weeks!
  6. Has anyone seen or heard of anyone else who applied to the new UGA Epi PhD program? SDSU/UCSD-Accepted Emory-Rejected UNC- UGA-
  7. Hi, I am new to this forum. I applied to the epi programs at UNC, Emory, UGA, and SDSU/UCSD. I heard from UCSD/SDSU and was accepted. I got a call from them earlier this week. They said they would send me a formal letter in the next few days and would like to know if I accept by March 1. Seems early to me, but he said that the deadline was not absolute. Still waiting from the others. Has anyone applied to UGA?
