  1. I have never been these places, so no specific questions. Living in Michigan and Illinois is not expensive. But the tuition fee in Umich is expensive. I care more about education quality, job opportunities and faculty. Money is important, but not decisive.
  2. Thanks a lot. Actually I also receive the admission from MS in CSE of Umich and MSIT in CMU INI. I'm not familiar with the latter one. Like other CMU's professional MS program, it's not difficult to be admitted. But it's CMU. Is UIUC still the best choice?
  3. Yeah, I have searched on the Internet but get little. Maybe UCLA did not publish the salary report. I only got some information on one UCLA's professor's website. From http://www.arishapiro.com/ It seem that there is no big difference between the salary. Really thank you for your replying.
  4. Job opportunities? I thought west coast should have more opportunities. UIUC is far away from SV.
  5. Hey, guys. I get the admission from MS in CS from UIUC and UCLA. Neither of them offer any funding. I was really nagged by doing the decision these days. I am an international students. So I do not know much about the two schools, especially UIUC. UIUC got higher rank in computer science and engineering school. And it is easier to get RA/TA position in UIUC and living in UIUC costs less. Whereas, UCLA got good weather and location. And also higher in overall rank. Really need help. I'm not sure about if I will continue to a phd degree. Now I prefer to find a job after graduation if the salary is OK. But phd degree is also possible.
