  1. I heard back from them at the end of January. However, I applied for the PhD in Latin American Cultural and Literary Studies. According to posters who shared info on OSU in previous years in our fields, they have contacted MA candidates as late as the end of March, so I would imagine you will hear soon if you haven't already! Be sure to check the website, as they seem to update that before sending more formal notifications. I wish you the best of luck!
  2. I just visited Indiana University for a conference. Aside from being a beautiful campus and lovely college town, the Department of Spanish and Portuguese is top-notch. It is evident that the professors are deeply committed to producing cutting-edge research and integrating it into their classes and mentoring of graduate students. The environment is friendly, professional, and rigorous. I had time to speak directly with Patrick Dove and Ricardo Guzmán. I would have applied there myself had I shared mutual research interests with faculty. I would definitely travel back for a conference. Good luck to any new Hoosiers!
  3. Thanks so much for bringing that to our attention! I hadn't seen it, as it was listed under "Hispanic Languages and Literatures". I will be checking my mail and email (they even say on the site that results are from a variety of sources each year for whatever reason). I also checked the graduate application status check with the link they provided, and I didn't see any new notifications.
  4. A colleague of mine has applied to all of those schools. They got into UC Davis and Boston, but will be turning down the offers due to other ones that are more suitable for their particular research interests. Hopefully this will open up a spot for those who were wait-listed at UC Davis. I know that NYU generally interviews in February and makes final decisions in March and April.
  5. I am currently doing my MA at Syracuse University, and am just about to finish the program. I am waiting to hear back from most of my schools for the PhD, and I have posted them in my signature. I wish all the luck in the world to my fellow Peninsular/Latin American literature and culture enthusiasts! Competition is especially fierce this year.
  6. Certainly Indiana University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The Ohio State University are worth a look!
He enviado solicitudes a Ohio State University, Indiana University, Syracuse University y SUNY Stony Brook (en Long Island).
