Yes, as an MA I was able to get tuition remission and healthcare as a benefit of working as a GA/TA. I was told that often PhDs are the priority, but in our department even though the PhDs got more funding (tuition remission w/o GAships) most of our MAs also got some sort of funding, if not full funding. Good luck, it's possible!

I am hoping for good news although like the above-poster, I was wait-listed at the school I had as my intended program. I've since accepted a great offer at Brown, and I wonder how this has affected Ford's decision-making process -- if I was ever in the running at all. I'll post the second I get something by mail.
