  1. Hey guys I thought it would be good to start a thread for people applying for genetic counseling school for Fall 2017. I am starting to prepare for the GRE and the supplemental materials of the application since I will be in the midst of finals when applications are due. I would love to talk to more people about genetic counseling school who are also applying or have applied previously. I am just now getting a list of programs that I want to apply to, which includes: Northwestern University, Emory University, University of South Carolina, Stanford University, CSU Stanislaus, Boston University, University of Michigan, and UT Houston.
  2. So, it's a week after the 15th and I've yet to hear from two universities (Purdue and Pitt). I know it's probably too late but I refuse to completely lose hope. Am I just being naive? I know it's a long shot by now but I cannot believe they would keep us in uncertainty for this long without, at least, some reason. Do any of you guys have some input? I'm really just offloading and venting a little bit so any comment is welcome. Congrats to everyone that was already accepted!
  3. Hello everyone, Thought I would make a group for those applying to Master of Health Informatics at University of Toronto for Fall 2017. Perhaps we can keep each other updated regarding interviews, acceptances, etc. Other health informatics programs at other universities are welcome too! Good luck!
  4. In Tracking my application in Illinois Tech for PhD in Chemical Engineering, it shows decision: denied to applied(Check your email and other applications section for more information). In other application section they added masters in chemical engineering and status complete. What does it really mean? Does it mean i was denied for PhD and may be considered for Masters. And they have not mailed me yet.Has anyone faced similar situation? Please let me know.
  5. Hey guys! I'll be attending to the graduate school in political science. Any newcomers? It would be great to meet and talk about housing issues. Cheers, Nietzsche's Moustache
  6. Hello everyone. I am applying to the EE MSc program at KAUST Fall 2017. I have gone through a technical interview, a personal interview and an administrative interview. I am currently waiting for the results of the administrative interview. It has been 4 weeks with no answer. Anyone willing to share their experience with KAUST application?
  7. I applied in January to UIC. I have seen threads from years past that said UIC was notorious for having a long delay in getting back to applicants. This is the only school I applied to (want to stay in Chicago, did private undergrad at Loyola, can't afford private masters) and I just wanted to know if anyone else had been accepted and how long it took?
  8. Hi everybody, I'm back from my long hiatus and am doing exactly what I did last year: starting the new thread for new applicants right before CSDCAS opens. Hopefully by 2018 I'll have gotten in and won't be here doing this anymore, lol. This thread is for everyone applying for 2017. That includes spring, summer, and fall applicants from any and all countries! Are you guys ready for this round? Who else is applying again that didn't get in before? How's life? etc.
  9. I suppose we all finished submitting our applications and wait for some news. Let's talk about our issues and developments of applications. I'm waiting for 2 universities (UVic and USask) and applied for MPA.
  10. Hello!! I have not read much about anyone applying and/or being accepted to Portland State. I just got accepted on Friday, and will be attending in the Fall!! I am very excited. I am actually currently in an MSW program here in California, but I applied as a transfer student. Soo happy I got accepted. Is anyone else here going to attend PSU?
  11. So it's already late March and browsing through the results it doesn't look like anyone's gotten a notification of acceptance or rejection? Has anyone heard an update yet?
  12. Hi! Has anyone applied for the Texas Tech University Health Science Center's doctoral program in audiology for Fall 2017 admission? I had an interview on the 28th of February and have yet to receive a response from the admissions committee. I would love to hear from others who are in the same boat. It would be great to attend Texas Tech!

  16. Haven't seen a thread for the 2017 cycle so I thought I'd initiate one here. Anyone in the process of applying? I have just submitted my application to UBC and am currently working on ones for U of T, McGill, York, Calgary, Alberta and possibly Queens/Victoria. Here are my stats: Undergrad GPA: 3.6/4.33 (3.88 in last 2 years) MA (International Studies- Course Based): 3.55/4.33 MA (Political Science): 4.0/4.0 Scholarships: 5 in second MA (including SSHRC); 2 in first MA and and 3 in BA Other Awards: Rhodes Finalist, Dean's Honor Call, Best Poster Presentation Award Publications: Three published, one of them is single author; 3 submitted Conferences: Presented at two academic conferences Research: Worked as an RA in 2 semesters Enthusiastic reference letters I would appreciate any comments/evaluations? UBC is my first choice but the profs that work in my area aren't taking on PhD students so I'm not sure about what my chances are. Of course would be happy to have an offer from Toronto and McGill as well. Where is everyone else applying to?

  19. Hi all! Just thought I'd start this thread. Where all are you applying? How's the GRE coming along? SoP...? Writing samples? Let's commiserate. I'll start. B.A. (top-ranking public school on the East coast) and M.A. (well-ranked, medium sized public school on the West coast) in art history. GRE registered for end-July. Currently working on my SoPs. Writing sample in my area, but needs much work/editing to be a self contained 20-page essay, as is customary for most programs. Schools shortlisted: University of California, Berkeley, University of Minnesota, University of Chicago, New York University's Institute of Fine Arts, Columbia University, City University of New York's The Graduate Centre, Harvard University, and Johns Hopkins University. Area: Early Modern Europe Here's to another season of applications. May the odds be ever in your favour!
  20. Hello M. Arch Applicants, I applied to 7 universities in Canada for Master's of Architecture for Fall 2017 and I have been rejected by 5 universities. My university is unaccredited and my grades are average. My question is should I lose hope and resort to looking for summer architecture internships and try again next year? This forum and admitted list is causing me more stress than before and I need advice and closure. ( I know I need to not look at the result list but it gives me a good idea who I am up against.) I want to know your applicant situations whether it's positive or negative and advise for what is the best way to move forward. Waitlist: U of Manitoba Rejected: Calgary, U of T, Ryerson, McGill and UBC Still waiting for offer: Carleton, Dalhousie
  21. Hi, I have an admit from Rutgers University for masters in fall 2017 (AI/ML). I looked around on linked in and looks like the alumni network of Rutgers is not very strong in the field of computer science. How will it impact my job oppotunities after MS. Should I even go there ?
  22. I am super torn right now and I even more so since I only have until Monday to make a decision! I really want to go into medical slp and have been accepted to NYMC and it's my dream school but I unexpectedly got into CUNY Brooklyn as well! Money wise it would be the best choice to choose Brooklyn but my heart is at NYMC. I've heard from others that it doesn't matter where you get you're degree from but I'm wary of Brooklyn program because of some comments I've heard that aren't exactly...encouraging. Can anyone from brooklyns program attest to the rumours? I'd love to work in a hospital, would going to Brooklyn potentially make me lose connections I could have made at NYMC? Should I just take the debt?? Help!!!
  23. I'm sweating out the University of Illinois Chicago's PhD History announcement. Has anyone heard about/got acceptance letters? Is it common to wait this long? I think, not sure, I have to be on a wait list -- I hope.
  24. Hey everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for those applying to urban / regional / community planning masters programs for Fall 2017. We can share thoughts on programs, application stats, acceptance/rejection dates, funding, etc. I don't know too much about all the planning programs, but right now I'm thinking I'll apply to the programs at Queen's (SURP), UofT (MScPl), Waterloo (MA/MES), and Ryerson (MPl). Let me know your thoughts!
