Is there any offers already? I think it would be cool if we would inform each others about decisions as they arrive. I've applied for MS/PhD at Berkeley, MIT, Cornell and just MS at UMN. Anybody applying to the same schools?

I applied to Purdue, UIUC, Pittsburgh, and MIT. Nothing yet. :\

Did you hear anything at all from MIT? They were supposed to acknowledge the reciept of supporting documents, but I haven't heard from them yet and the deadline was like 10 days ago..:S

I got an email from helpdesk and they gave me a link to verify that my recommendations were received but that is it

I just got confirmation of this from MIT via email today.

So Purdue and UIUC's recruiting weekends are both Friday February 25th and Saturday February 26th... ugh, no idea what to do. The academic advisor I was assigned at Purdue said they were very flexible, and I have not talked to UIUC about the matter yet so instead of asking them about their flexibility as well I think I may go to UIUC's on the scheduled date then try and see if I can swing by Purdue on Sunday or Monday. Thoughts?

Hi,

Can we just share our GRE, TOEFL, GPA and other stuffs so that we can have a idea of possible chances in a particular university.. Well my details are as follows:

My CGPA : 8.2/10, major GPA 8.7/10 from the top college in India. Currently my departmental rank (DR) is 4/70

My GRE score is

Quant : 800

Verbal : 610

TOEFL: 101 (R-29, W-24, L-24, S-24)

I have done 3 projects under different professors. Got LORs from all of them. SOP I think was decent enough.

undergrad GPA: 3.74 (civil engineering and math major)

graduate GPA : 4.0 (I'll be getting my MS in civil in May)

GRE: quantitative: 720/ verbal: 520/ writing: 5 (I'm a terrible test taker)

I have a first authored publication on the way and possibly a second or third author paper.

2+ years of research in a structural dynamics related field.

My personal statement was pretty strong and descriptive about what type of research I currently do and want to do in the future.

5 great LORs--many from profs that attended/teach at the universities I'm applying to.

I don't really like sharing my personal information like this but I know it helps out others applying this year and possibly those applying in the next few years.

GPA: 3.75

Major GPA: 3.91

Major/Minor: Civil Engineering / Mathematics

GRE: 800/520/4.5

1 Conference Proceeding in review from a summer of research

3 LORs, 2 from structures prof here at my undergrad, 1 from structures prof at the university I did research at

I feel my SOP was very good, spent over a month on it.

Even though I think the information we provide here might be completely misleading, here we go:

Undergrad GPA: 9.70/10.00 (regionally reputable European Univ)

GPA at the US uni: 3.90/4.00

Top student of my class

GRE Q: 790

TOEFL: 108

Honors, Awards, Fellowships: Many honors based on GPA, 1 year full exchange scholarship at the US state uni, grant for a research project at famous European uni

Research exp: 7 months of research experience in the US; will have some more this semester at the aforementioned European uni

Publications: Coauthored a conference proceeding (ACI Conference)

Internship: 3 summers of professional internship (nothing fancy though)

LoRs: a really good one from my research supervisor in the US, another one from a US professor (a pretty good one I believe), a perfect one from a European prof

SoP: I love to think it looks great; but I am not sure any more :)
