I have heard back from BME at UT-Austin and some of my friends have heard from Berkeley ChemE and UT ChemE. BU and UT Austin are great schools...so you don't have interviews from these schools then? straight acceptances? That's really nice..... I've applied to WUSTL, Hopkins, Duke, Carnegie mellon, UC Irvine and Georgia Tech...I haven't heard from anywhere yet and i'm getting really really nervous...my life seems to revolve around these forums and I'm not seeing many people post results in here....I was checking out the last year's post and seems like there were quite a bit of posts by this time....I do'nt know what's going on...so do you think that the BME interviews are just a little later than the sciences in any case? But yes, I too am nervous but I'm pretty sure most of the BME/BE programs won't send out acceptances/interviews until Feb 1. However, yes I did happen to get straight acceptances to the two programs I have heard back from. I'm pretty sure UCSD sent out a bunch of BME invites yesterday, unfortunately I did not receive one . Unfortunately I didn't apply to any of the schools you did, so I can't offer much advice regarding your particular case. Oh well, I'm still hopeful for the other eight schools that I applied too. I've been checking my email/mailbox like crazy too, hoping that I get some word on something from the programs. But as fresh prince mentioned, we may not hear from the other schools until after Feb 1st...Let's keep our hopes up....I'm glad to know that you've applied to couple of schools I applied to, Daddys_girl!! Applied to: Northwestern, U Utah, USC, Michigan, Duke, Case Western, GA Tech, UCLA, Urbana, Chicago, Purdue and Penn State. Stupid I know, but I didn't get into medical school 2 years ago after applying to as many schools and I had a 37 on my MCAT and a triple major in Chem, Bio and Physics for undergrad so I really don't want a repeat performance. The stress is a killer. Seeing that acceptance from Utah Bioengineering didn't make me feel any better about my empty mailbox on Friday afternoon either. Are you by any chance an International student? Did you send your MCAT scores to the biomedical engineering schools also? I know Duke accepts MCAT scores as well... ealkjhljha Posted January 26, 2009 Share Posted January 26, 2009 I applied to MD/PHD programs, and I applied late. I think that pretty much did me in. Not an international student. My GPA did suffer from 3 science majors in 4 years but it wasn't disgusting, and CMON, a triple? I didn't send MCAT scores to any schools. Oh well. I had all of my applications submitted in October this time so I've been waiting awhile, but now things are starting to get exciting, and the waiting is getting more intense. Hopefully we all hear something positive this week. Oh and checking status.... One telling me to submit my application prior to April 2009.. which I've submitted in November of 2008.. and the Second email stating to come to USC for a 'Preview Weekend' with a few dates all the way through April. When you look at the schedule of events, it seems a bit generic by the graduate admissions. They say that they will contact the dept you applied to and let them know you're coming; however, there are no guarantees that someone would be available... so now I don't know what to think about this?!? "Remember the admissions deadline is April"..... thaaaaaaaanks... my application was submitted in October... Oh well. I did write all of the schools on post-it notes, and used the search feature to look up their acceptance dates from years previous to arrange them in order around the border of my monitor.... yeaaa. You should try calling them anonymously and see if they are still reviewing and let me know hahahaha. I'm so tired of trying to figure this kind of thing out... It just gets me more anxious. I put in applications to UCB, Michigan, Maryland, Purdue, Colorado, Cornell, BU, Virginia, and GA Tech. I had good news from Colorado on the 14th, but nothing else yet. I'm a bit worried that I haven't heard from Berkeley, Michigan, or BU yet since it seems like they've already started accepting, but until I hear a no I guess I'll keep my head up.
