@K.j. Prashanth

For CMU waitlist, they'll give you a number of where you stand compared to everybody else on waitlist I would think. I'm guessing if you aren't high on the list by that point, it is unlikely to be admitted. I know I'm not hoping for a miracle I get off waitlist at CMU and get admitted. That said, being on waitlist isn't the worst thing out there.

All we can do is wait. The other thing I've heard that can change your favor in the admissions eyes if you have been waitlisted is to let them know you can fund yourself, whether personally or from an external fellowship. That may sway them in admitting you since you are cheap or basically "free" labor.

Has anyone heard anything from Notre Dame's ME department? I sent an email, and they said "they are still in the process of selections" and would keep going till mid-April. I saw one result from years past had an interview with the department, and was wondering if anyone had something like that.

guys has anyone heard from Purdue ME for Phd ??? My application is still under reveiw and no decision has been made yet on it. Although talking to them last week revealed this " There have not been any denials done as they will be finalizing admits by the 31st of this month." cryptic as it may be what i understand from it is that no one has been denied as yet but the admits will be finalized by end of this month.

anyone else has some input would be grateful. ???

I too have not heard anything regarding admissions for PhD from Purdue. My application status is still holding for review, although I did get emailed by a POI, so I have hope.
If you're right about the end of this month decisions then I guess we should be hearing news on Monday.

I just saw that there's been a whole bunch of Stanford MS rejections today. I think they may be finalizing their MS admissions, so maybe that means they'll be moving on the PhD ones soon? I'm so nervous!! Except for the CMU waitlist decision (which is not really a decision), I haven't heard anything back at all from any of the other schools I've applied to and we're closing in on April.

Round 2 - Applied: UW, VT, RPI, UMCP, CU-B, ASU, NCSU.
Accepted: RPI, NCSU, CU-B, VT, ASU
Rejected: UW

Decision made B)

Lets hope we hear something from Purdue starting today, its been too long. the professor i am in touch with thier says that this year has been unusually bad since too many people have applied. Other than that he hasnt heard anything on my application yet and hence i am not too hopefull although i do hope that all the other poeple have better luck on this.

I received Purdue's answer on Friday.
I applied to a PhD, and was accepted to their MS program.

In the admission letter it is stated:
"Funding in the form of research assistantships are provided by our faculty. Please feel free to contact those members of the faculty whose research is of interest to you."

nopes, i am still waiting for purdue mech to get back on my phd app as well.

I talked to vicki today and got the same old reply, that no denials have been made yet while admissions are still being sent out.

classes start in aug and they are still dilly-dallying with lame responses, the slothfull lot of them. :(((

Don't worry, all replies are usually sent out by the 15th - its quite usual. Also, a professor can get you in if he really wants you. Good luck.

No. Still waiting on that as well. Looking at last year's results, there were admissions as late as May 18, so this could take a while.

Has anyone heard anything from CMU's waitlist? I saw a couple of rejections on the results page. Did they accept anyone, or should I just assume a rejection at this point?
