Be careful about USC and don't live off campus: http://www.latimes.c...0,6840970.story

Not to have people freaking out regarding off-campus housing and not to be crass about recent tragedies, but let's be real. USC is located in a large city, crimes always occur in major cities. You need to be smart about what you're doing, for instance, not sitting in an expensive-looking car in the dead of night, and start being more vigilant. I come from Detroit, and teach inner-city kids in gangs, and you need to be real with yourself, crimes are more prevalent here in major cities, walk in groups, don't stay out too late at night, use Campus Cruiser (they are a service that drives you home near campus at all hours if you feel the need for extra safety)...etc. Most of the recent crimes around USC have been cases of students not being too careful past 1AM.

I don't think people should shy away from off-campus housing near USC: it's convenient walking/biking distance from campus, and mostly consisted of USC students. Just be smart.

Hi all! Incoming students for the Price School just created a new Facebook group, USC Sol Price School of Public Policy Class of 2014. All new students check us out. We'll talk about the school, L.A., housing, transportation, networking, and fun things to do, while socializing with the people you'll be running into around RGL. Check us out. :)

Hey everyone! Are you planning to attend the orientation? I know for a fact that if you don't you can ask the materials to be sent to you..I'm not sure if it's worth $100! Anyone who has been to one of these??

Hi everyone, I am a current grad student at USC. My friend and I are looking for a roommate to live in a 3BD2BR apartment in Chinatown (the roommate would share a bathroom with me). Rent would be $650/mo with a security deposit of $975. There are 2 parking spots in a gated garage and street parking. There is a washer/dryer in the unit and central heating/AC. We're looking for someone to rent starting in July. If you're interested, you can email me at cthuyn@gmail.com or PM me.

Hey dumbo!

I'd like to play badminton and I'd love to join the equestrian team but I guess as a PhD student I won't have enough time and money for riding ;(
