Masters in HR or MBA?

I'm an International graduate currently living in US. I was a journalist in India and is currently working in Human Resources field in USA. Yeah a big change!

Everyday I feel that having a Degree in HR from US would greatly help me and I'm thinking of taking Master's to boost my HR career with Labor Relations and Employment Law as my concentration.

So far I'm planning to apply to Rutgers and NYU SCPS. Can anyone tell me which is better, a Masters program in HR or MBA with HR concentration? I prefer Universities in tri-state area, (hopefully i will get) B)

A specialty masters in HR will provide you with specific skills in HR but might not give you the broader leadership/management of an MBA degree.  If you are ok being specialized in one particular area an MSHR might not be a bad idea but if you think you might want broader options in your career in the future, I would go for the MBA with a concentration in HR.. Good luck.
