What to do during GAP year?

I am a senior computer science student. I took my GRE exam last week and it was kind bad, V142 Q159. I just started doing research last week. I am applying for Human computer interaction program
I see most of the MS application are due on January. I am really busy during the semester and I don't think I have time to study GRE again until winter break. so I will most likely miss the due date by the time I take GRE again.
so I am wondering if I apply next year, what should I do during this gap year except study GRE ? If I start looking for job I may end up getting a 2-year contract which I don't really want to cause I want to go to graduate school.

Hmm... My thought is that a 2 year contract wouldn't really be a bad thing if the job could get you some research experience. If not, then volunteer in a research lab for a year.

Oh, just get the damn job. Two years off of school can be a very positive experience, it gets you away from the academic way of looking at the world for a little bit. It also gives you time to mature and be mentally prepared for a PhD program's demands. Also, unless the contract stipulates that you cannot voluntarily leave (which would be weird) there is nothing wrong with you leaving the job early.
