Is my gre good?

The verbal will almost certainly hinder your chances of acceptance to a top program, even if it is in the math/sciences/engineering. I highly recommend you take it again and practice reading comprehension and word roots.

Hmmm. In social sciences a lot of places just say a combined 300 is the cutoff.

I'd ask folks in the programs you're looking at about it.

Also if you pulled a 3.96 GPA from a real university then you should be able to break 150 on verbal with not too much studying. Retake if you can.

Your quantitative is fine, but I would have to agree with the others on this thread that your verbal is low. If you are able to take the GRE again, I would recommend it. What helped me a lot the online course on Magoosh.com. They provide a lot of practice questions for both verbal and quantitative along with free flashcards of the most common GRE words. I found it to be super helpful!
