How much are the publications from industry acceptable to Adcom

Hi , first of all..I want to thank you all for your wonderful suggestions at this site. I am very new to this and any help would be highly appreciated. I am from India applying for US grad school in chemistry for Fall 2015. I have finished my MS by 2008 and currently engaged as the Senior Research Executive in the R & D lab of an esteemed MNC. I have four publications in ACS, RSC and Elsevier-all are renowned peer-reviewed journals. In one of them, I am the corresponding author. My doubt is about the impact these publications can have on my admission decision. I have heard that people from academics hardly believe in scientific research that has been conducted under industry tag. Is this true that provided the same publications I have produced in some academic institution, that could have better impact on the admission committee? Also, I want to know if patents in a candidate's credit can at all have some impact on decision-making. Because all schools ask for publications and conference presentations, but none of them look for the patents. I have nine patents filed from my company,so I am doubtful whether or not to enlist them in the application forms.

Please suggest!Thanks a lot!

Industrial experience is just fine, and coming in with four publications is great. I think the suspicion you're thinking of is that companies tend to have more of a profit motive and so papers from there have to be read with a potential conflict of interest in mind. I can say I've certainly not received any negative treatment because my research experience came from industry.

Thanks, Vene. Let's see how it works. Today only I took the GRE. score: V 150, Q 162. TOEFL pending. I am thinking of applying to USC, Duke, UMass Amherst, UT austin, UI Urbana. Do you have any idea how does chemistry Adcom see the verbal score? can my GPA of 4/4, 4 publications and 6 yrs of work ex as a research executive in R & D of an MNC cover up those shortcomings?
