Chances at a good Government/International Affairs Grad Program

Hi All,

 

*School: Cal State Long Beach
*GPA: 3.0
*Major: International Studies

*Minor: Russian and Political Science
*GRE: Not Yet Taken

*Language: Intermediate Russian

*Study Abroad: Short term in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Was beaten and robbed as well as followed home alot so I ended the study abroad and came home. Anti-Americanism relatively high in former-Soviet countries
*Experience: Government Affairs Intern at 2nd Largest U.S. Port (10 months), Congressional Intern (7 months), Long Beach City Council Campaign (2 months)
*LOR: 1 from Professor who writes and studies on former Soviet Central Asia. Another from boss at Port. Another from Air Force Chief Master Sergeant.
*Air Force ROTC Experience-Did not get intelligence slot though

*Research: Little on Central Asian and Russian affairs with the West with regards to geopolitics

Programs I'm looking at:

Columbia: SIPA
USC: Public Diplomacy

George Washington: Elliot 
Penn State: School of International Affairs

University of Maryland: School of Public Policy
Institute of World Politics
