Hello everyone,

I just received an email notifying me of my acceptance to Fletcher. I applied back in September and am very excited! Has anyone else heard? Anyone know when we might hear about financial aid or fellowships?

Best of luck!!!

My stats for reference:

GPA:3.75 History

WE: 2.5 years (I am American, working in the former USSR)

Still waiting on SAIS EN and hope to hear soon!

Congratulations! You have very impressive GRE scores, so I'm not surprised. I hope the process of preparing to begin your studies goes well.

Hi there, I'm in for Fletcher as well. I applied to HKS, WWS, Fletcher and SIPA. As the SIPA acceptance came much earlier than expected, I took a decision to not continue (and not to submit) my applications to Cornell CIPA and SAIS... I'm still not sure if that decision was a good one.but for what I want to do, both these schools have lesser opportunities than SIPA and Fletcher.

I'm an international applicant from a developing country, so funding will play a major role. Now there is a long wait for funding and other decisions- trying hard for all external scholarships that I am eligible for as well.

Congratulations to everyone who got in! And fingers crossed for all the rest.. March is a long way away..

If the deadlines for CIPA and SAIS haven't passed yet, I would consider finishing those anyway and putting them out there. If you are worried about funding, a great financial aid package from a "safety" school or one that is not your top choice can really help you get the funding package you want at your dream school. I knew USC wasn't going to be my first choice, but I leveraged a full-ride from them for an extra $10K from Duke, which I'm now attending. I know WWS will give you great aid if you get in, but I've heard varying things about Fletcher and HKS, so if you want the best shot at being able to attend (once you get in), then I'd advise you to complete those apps.

Hi guys, Congratulations on your acceptance from Fletcher and other schools.

I got accepted in SIPA (MIA) and Fletcher (MALD) early application. I have also applied to Elliott, Jackson, SAIS, SFS and The Graduate School (Geneva). However, SIPA and Fletcher are my two top choices and hence the nervous decision making times are here. I would really appreciate your views on this.

I applied to Fletcher (MALD- International & Human Security; Arabic language requirement). I do not know what to expect from this school..especially due to my GRE scores. But, I still applied and hope for the best.

I've applied to the MIB rather than the MALD. Had a series of discussions with the Dean of Business who convinced me to apply. Apparently the scholarship pools for MIB and MALD are different and MIB students get more - but I can't confirm this. Good luck to everyone!

Congrats to those who are admitted.

Could you share a bit about your background?  I believe that I have a good profile with work experience, but my GPA is mediocre (3.5) and GRE score isn't great (mid 150).

The admission decision date is shown as April 1 on the website? Can anyone confirm this?

Apparently that is the latest date at which they could contact you, but you should expect to hear back in mid-March.

If last year is any clue, announcements should come around March 13. The admissions blog has already posted their annual info on admissions and conditional admissions, which they also did last year around this time.

Did you guys receive a really nice personalized email from Fletcher in mid-February, saying the admissions officer enjoyed x, y, and z about your application? I did, and saw elsewhere on gradcafe that others were also receiving them.

And I wonder what the competition is like! Care to post your stats while we wait?

GPA: 3.6

GRE: 162V, 161Q, 4.0AW

Age: 27

Experience/qualifications: Rare asian language, acquired at a language academy and now fluent; Attended university overseas in said country and received an unusual but highly relevant degree for IR studies; U.S. military veteran; Summer internship at U.S. embassy overseas; Three strong LORs.

Applied to: SIPA (accepted, no funding), SIS, ESIA, SAIS, SFS, Fletcher

I was admitted EN but they haven't mentioned funding yet. They said my funding decision would be out in "mid March" - whenever the RD decisions are released. So I don't think you guys will need to wait until April 1.

I am sure that my GRE scores played some role in my offer of admission, but after visiting campus and speaking with admissions officers, I learned that work experience is even more important for MALD (international work especially, well depending on your professional focus)....Some people are accepted right out of undergrad, but it's very difficult and they have very high GRE/GPAs plus internship and travel experience.

Good luck!

That would be nice, and a day earlier than last year. Here's hoping.

Edit: and yeah, you're right, checking the blog it appears decisions should be out by 6 PM EST.
