kahlan_amnell
I noticed this area doesn't have many new posts latley, perhaps because it is somewhat between applications seasons (applications for Spring are done and ones for Fall are just starting). Who is applying for Fall 2015? Where are you applying? As for me, I am planning to apply to: The University of Washington Kent State University Simmons College I'm trying to decide if I should apply anywhere else. At this point I'm just getting started with applications because the earliest one is due in mid-January and the other two are due in March. arbitrary.aubergine
I'm also applying for Fall 2015 for the following schools: The University of British Columbia- application submitted yesterday, yay! The University of Western Ontario San Jose State University-got accepted, but I'd prefer an in-person program I will probably apply to UW-Milwaukee or Simmons if I don't get into Western or UBC and I hear early enough. Shep
Um...not to sound like a jerk, but most if not all of the programs you apply to will accept you. This is library school not an actual academic degree, so with that, expect more acceptances and less funding.
Bibliotecher
Shep, are you me!? I rarely come to this forum, but decided to check it out on a slow Friday at work and your recent posts echo my exact sentiment. I have always wondered why people applied to multiple LIS programs. I would be surprised if MLIS program acceptance rates were below 90%. MLIS programs are cash-cows for universities; low investment needed and easy ROI. I do not think I have ever read about anyone NOT getting accepted into an MLIS program, and I feel like I won't because those that have will be too embarrassed to post it online.
