alion24 Posted January 10, 2015 Share Posted January 10, 2015 I saw from the crowd source data that a lot of email interviews from Stanford Biosciences went out on Jan 9 (yesterday). If you haven't received an interview email by now, should you assume you won't get one? I was waiting on the home program of Genetics, via the Biosciences. I'm a bit bummed, but also I'd just really like to know so I can proceed with scheduling my interviews for other schools in the area/making travel arrangements. Thanks! Vene Posted January 10, 2015 Share Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) You have 8 interviews to stellar universities, don't worry about Stanford at this point. You're looking at a lot of traveling in the upcoming months, which is a lot more exhausting than you realize. Last year there were several posters here in situations like yours who ended up turning down their later interviews after the first few because of that exhaustion. There's still hope Does anyone know at which point international applicants should assume that they won't be receiving an interview/skype email? It looks like from previous years that there are always a couple people that don't hear from their schools until well after January but I don't know how long I should be optimistic... I'm so nervous I can barely do anything other than pace around and refresh my emails... It'd be really great to hear from anyone with past experience with this! Stanford Biosciences website states that In general, if an applicant has not heard about a possible invitation by late January, it is unlikely that he or she will be invited to Stanford or admitted.
