I am applying for PhD programs in Electrical Engineering: I have applied to: Iowa state University. George Mason University. Northeastern University. Akron University. and in Canada Queen's University. Carleton University. Concordia University. my GPA in the master program is 3,57 and I have published one conference paper in a very strong conference in my field. plus I have a journal and another conference paper still under review. I took the IELTs and I scored 7. my question is do I have a good chance to get a scholarship in these programs. Plus I was always dreaming of getting the admission in a big university. I'm far from an expert on admissions chances for Ph.D.'s in electrical engineering, but just judging from your GRE scores in Writing and Verbal I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable with my admissions chances into any major Ph.D. program, let alone a master's program for public relations. If you're wanting to increase your chances for getting funding for your Ph.D. program, I'd retake the GRE with the aim of improving your Verbal and Writing scores. Hani2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Share Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) at least you need to increase your writing score. the verbal score, I saw some got admitted with 145,146 so I do not think it will hurt your chances. the letters of recommendations are a requirement, therefore, if you do not provide them these letters you will be rejected. I remember I applied to Imperial college and they ask me for 3 letters of recommendations. one professor did not submit his recommendation online. I got my rejection very early. I assume that if your profile is not complete ( include all the requirements ) it will not be passed to the department.
