SuaveSosa
Which should I wear, a blazer or a suit? I'm a guy. Assume they're both navy (with different color slacks for the blazer of course).
MJA87
I haven't attended any admitted student events, and I might be way off base, but isn't that a little over dressed? I'd definitely be wearing some slacks and a tucked-in button-down, but not a full suit/jacket (unless it's really cold I guess?). Tairy
Generic everyday stuff, but my field is pretty informal and people don't care that much. WhatAmIDoingNow
Atlas445
Well his username is "SuaveSosa" so... there's that. But seriously, that username & question together made me laugh for some reason so thank you haha!

This really depends on the program and the city.

Well looking at your sig, I would say imagine it like a mixer with legislature coworkers. Would you wear a tie with the button down?
WhatAmIDoingNow
DC and "government affairs." "government affairs" is broad. International relations, MPA, MPP, Nonprofit management, national security studies, a bunch of other ones floating around. If government workers will be there, suit. If faculty and other academics, blazer.
albuhhh
Current student, attended a fair share of these last year. The answer is neither. I actually enjoy getting dressed up, but in this case, a suit or blazer would be totally unnecessary. A button down and chinos would be more than enough if you want to look nice, but even that isn't required. WhatAmIDoingNow
