Do you get your I20?

Recommended Posts

I am admitted by NYU and submit my i20 application at the beginning of April, but I still receive nothing, even no automatic response through the online form they provide to check for i20 application. So worried!

I'm not going to NYU, but mine is still being processed, their webpage estimates it will be about 2-3 more weeks. If you are worried, you should contact the international student office.

Same here~ I think their office is extremely busy right now. They did ask me to resubmit my application because of some problem with my original application though. So it means they're really working on processing the application. But beyond that, no news, no update and no reply to any inquiry so far.

Thanks for your instruction. I do contact with them through email once, they did not give me any directly answer, just say they are doing their job. I am afraid too much questions would bother them.

Through other NYU students' suggestion, it seems they just work slow and they always slow, so I guess I have to wait.

This is exactly what I worried. I am worried after a long waiting period, they say my materials have problem, and I resubmit my application, and then all the endless waiting start again! Finally I would have no time for my visa. :( :(

But still, hearing that they are actually doing something is quite a relife, afterall they are working.

Still waiting for my I-20, visa and tickets. I need to get the latter as early as possible right after getting my visa. Costs will rise very quickly!

Totally agree!!!Education is expensive, not mention the cost of NYU. For money, I want to save whatever can be saved. So I am gonna buy my ticket before I get my visa, I know it is kind of risky but I heard the application is not difficult for the F-1.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just got my I-20. I had to pay $40USD to get it couriered, and they left it in a puddle at my door, and didn't even knock to say it was there. Yay UPS...

After I submitted all of the necessary documents (passport scan and evidence of financial support), they had the I-20 ready in less than a week and requested me to receive it via e-ship global (offered no other options). It took ~4.5 days to arrive (chose FedEx, $54.36).
