UIC still waiting??!

Recommended Posts

I applied to UIC in January and have not heard anything back yet. I am sort of assuming that I have been waitlisted, but I was wondering if anyone has heard anything. I tried calling admissions a few days ago, but they said that no decision has been made on my application yet. THIS SCHOOL IS DRIVING ME NUTS. Is anyone having the same problem??

I haven't heard either. It's a little insane. I wish I didn't live in Chicago and this wasn't my in-state school. This whole process with them has been miserable.

I have been waiting FOREVER. I've also emailed a few times, they basically have no idea when they will make a decision. It's super stressful! I also applied in January.

I received an acceptance e-mail from the UIC MSW program last Friday (4/24) and then this past Wednesday recevied a hard copy of the letter in the mail. The letter says my enrollment decision form is due by May 15th, so I imagine that means everyone will be hearing sooner than later. Fingers crossed for everyone!

For context, I submitted my application in early January, but my last reference wasn't submitted until the day before the deadline.

  • 2 weeks later...

SAD! Another week and no word from UIC, it's been nine weeks since my application was "moved to the committee" and I applied in January. At this point, I'm guessing I did not get in, especially since other people have found out. I just want an answer because the wait is awful!

I haven't heard anything either. Did you apply to the AM or PM program? It's really quite a disaster for me. I have to move apartments in July and I am waiting to find a new place based on whether I will be going to UIC or not. I just wish I had a decision.

Last week I sent another email to admissions about my situation. My email was forwarded to the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. He personally called to inform me of my acceptance, and then I received my acceptance letter just a few days ago via email. If I hadn't pestered the office, who knows if I would still be waiting on their decision. I wish good luck to those who are still waiting. Don't lose heart!

@Cantoni2 I would just call them. I heard back May 1st but that's only after I had called the office multiple times. Finally when I called back April 30, they said they would let me know by the end of the next day.... so yeah just bug them! Good luck!

@Cantoni2 I called multiple times and emailed them just once. This is what I said in my email:

I submitted my application materials to the Jane Addams College of Social work at the end of January. I have not received an update from the college on my application status, and I am wondering when decisions will be made. The other MSW programs I have been admitted to are moving along in terms of internship placements. I feel as though I am already behind with UIC. If you could provide me with any information about when I will be hearing a decision, that would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Sorry you haven't heard yet. Yes, bug them!! You deserve an answer already. I feel your pain. Good luck!

I have emailed them twice and applied to the PM program. All they say is the committee hasn't made a decision, and no timeframe on hearing back is available. Has anyone heard back about the PM program? I think it is unprofessional how they are processing these applications. I remember originally hearing a timeframe of 4-6 weeks.

I've emailed SO many people and I either do not get a response or get the "email ____". I've even been told that my email was being forwarded to the director as well but still nothing. I applied to the AM program.

@Momoneymoproblems

And they gave you an answer fast? The thing is, I want to hear before June 1st; Long story short, the other program that accepted me (UIUC) needs to know by then, but I don't want to say yes, give them a deposit, and then get accepted to UIC...It's just frustrating. I just want to get into UIC, that's all.
