OneMoreDegree
Hello All: I've posted a little, but mostly lurk. I'm wondering if any of you know about travel/research opps for sw students (PhD pref.). I traveled for my MSW, and am hoping to procure a similar opportunity for the PhD. I'm not sure if most of the experiences are only available to postdocs, or at what point a person begins looking/applying so looking for guidance (or direction to an existing post). about me: aMy MSW is from a top ranked school, i'm accepted to a "smaller?" program at a state school for PhD. I have full funding, without teaching expectations for year 1 and 4. My director did a fullbright, so I'll talk to her more about that, but am interested in learning from any of you who have applied or are applying. My research interests are: program development and evaluation, youth with chronic health conditions, and youth transitioning from foster care and/or from the pediatric to adult health care system. I have 1 year experience in research in a split hospital/university setting, 2 years supervision experience in foster care, 2 years training/technical assistance training in child welfare (state university, federal grant collab), and 4 years advocacy experience. Thank you,
