SLP Leveling Programs!

Recommended Posts

Howdy y'all!

Just wanted some advice on SLP leveling programs. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Nursing, but find myself wanting to go the SLP route, so I'm applying to a couple leveling programs for the Spring of 2016.

I applied to the UNT program and got accepted to that, but I would like some reviews from others who have been through the program/know about it. I've looked on their website and researched a little, but I would like to hear from others. I now it probably doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but the fact that they don't really have much of a program set out for leveling (as far as advising and such) makes me think they don't really care about me as a student either and that's something that I'm not fond of.

I also plan to apply to UT Dallas. That's the main one that I'm hoping to get into, but my question for y'all is - despite my undergrad GPA and GRE test scores not being very competitive at all, do you think I still have a chance of getting in? My GPA is around 3.2 and I haven't taken my GRE yet, but I'm not confident for my GRE right now and I know I need a stellar score to compensate for my low GPA. Just feeling really discouraged, because I don't know what else I can do to make my application stand out from everyone else's.

My final one I plan on applying to for the spring is UT Austin. Any thoughts on this program? I was a little confused on the information I was getting from their website, so again, some personal reviews would be a lot more helpful.

I just want a general idea of how these programs stack up against each other. Sorry for such a long post, but anything helps! Thank you in advance! :)

I graduated from UT Austin and did my leveling course work there as well.  Let me know what kind of questions you have, and I'll be happy to help.
