I am currently applying to medical school but I am very interested in virology research. Below is my CV and I would greatly appreciate recommendations of virology programs that I would be a strong applicant for. I will be taking the GRE soon but I have not taken it yet, however to give you an idea of my standardized test scores I got a 30 on the MCAT. Any help would greatly be appreciated! Your CV is very obviously for med school. There is a lot of stuff in your CV that you don't need, such as your internship section and your additional experience section. Your related skills should be a part of your research experience section. Also do you have any teaching experience? For your presentation section I would make it look more like a list of publications, official title, authors, bold your name where you are in the line of authors. For you research experience what did you do specifically, it sounds like you put down what the lab does in general, the more specific the better. CV requires nn description of what you have done/learned during a specific work/research. In other words, under your research experience, it should just be 1 line with the information of: name of PI, name of department, time, and your title in the lab/at work. 2. As a result, OP will need to elaborate on the research experience, typically in an essay that elaborates what you have accomplished as a researcher and why are you applying grad school for a virology program, and/or why that specific school. I'm unsure how admission committee view when your CV has a bunch of med school-oriented experience listed in the CV. you definitely need to tailor it so that they don't think you are applying the program because you cannot get into med school -- this is what I have been told once by a professor friend of mine, who was the head of the admission committee for years. mademoiselle2308 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I was mostly asking for an opinion from individuals that are already in virology programs whether you believe I would be a strong candidate for certain virology programs and if you could please name them so I can look into them some more.
