I'm not sure if this question is still actual but I wanted to tell that there are a lot of students who could help you with proofreading of your SOP for free. Though I guess you should be cautious about who you choose to help you. Also, there are a lot of paraphrasing tools like this free paraphrase generator that can help you if you need help with paraphrasing.
