Are you saying that you would be interested in either academic political theory, public policy, or law school, but that your main requirement is staying close to home? You sound like you're not quite sure why you want to go to grad school - my advice is to do some soul-searching to figure out your career goals before you spent tens of thousands of dollars and years of your life on a degree.
