  1. Solve for Y. In your equation, X is the single burger
  2. You have two variables and two equations. Let's say X is regular burgers and Y is double, One equation is for the total cost of the burgers: 1*X+1.5*Y=72.5 Another is for the number of burgers: X+Y=50 Two equations, two unknowns. Subtract the 2nd equation from the first one. You get .5*Y=22.5. Solve for Y. Y=45.
  3. I did a BS in Mechanical Engineering and am now finishing my MS in Chemical Engineering. I did not have to do any extra courses but I did need to do a lot to catch up for some courses (Reactions/Catalysis and Thermodynamics). You will have a lot of trouble if you did not take some undergraduate ChemE courses. From the ChemE courses I have taken, Organic Chemistry and Chemistry, are not important. Fluid Mechanics, mass transfer, heat transfer, and thermodynamics are more important.
  4. My GPA is comparably low for a graduate student in chemical engineering. I have a 3.4 right now and I was wondering how much it could derail my chances of getting into a PhD program. Also, I graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering.
  5. Hey guys, I am studying my Master's in chemical engineering and was wondering if anybody had any positive experiences with online master's courses or degrees. I am required by my program to take at least one graduate-level class outside of chemical engineering but being the only graduate program they only offer one course for that requirement. I am looking to take this course as distance learning and I was wondering if anybody had a certain university/program they had a positive experience with Thank You Omar
