  1. Evernote! I'm still new to the class note-taking capabilities, but I have the smartphone app and I'm loving it. Especially love the document camera feature--SO helpful when you want to take a picture/obtain an electronic copy of a physical document but don't have a scanner nearby.
  2. Finally mustered up the courage to call the admissions office. They replied that as far as they know, no waitlist meetings have taken place and they are still processing offer responses from admits. Surprising that it is taking this long, as in the past this school has sent the first round of waitlist notifications by late April.
  3. I would actually beg to differ on NYU Wagner not having a student community, of sorts. While the lack of true "campus" and such may ring true for the larger NYU community/undergrad life, NYU Wagner struck me as very cohesive and interested in the wellbeing of their students. NYU Wagner students I spoke to seemed to be very close with their fellow classmates, and often go to happy hours and networking events with students at Wagner and other NYU schools such as Stern and GSAS. As for the quant material, it seems up to the student to decide how much quant they want to take--Wagner does have a Finance Specialization that seems just as quant heavy as any standard Finance/Management specialization would/should be, but if you were to veer away from the Finance/Management courses I can see how the curriculum would end up less quant-focused. YMMV.
  4. Completely agree with you, Kadisha. I only started this thread to see if any other people on the waitlist had received notifications. At this point I'm not really looking to try and guesstimate how many waitlisters will get accepted since it's probably very counterproductive!
  5. Thanks for the input and support everyone. Hopefully they begin crunching class yield numbers and giving some waitlist news soon.
  6. Just wondering if anyone's received word on when we can potentially expect an update. A little afraid to call the Admissions office, since their letter was very adamant about not contacting them. Thanks!
  7. Davis is a great town. Rent is more than affordable and the people are incredibly friendly and helpful. Definitely not boring; there are always things to do. Bring allergy medicine--having an arboretum with many plant/flora species comes with a price (for pollen allergy sufferers)!

  9. NYU Wagner's is today as well. I checked with them a few weeks ago regarding deadline extensions and deferral requests, and it seems they stopped accepting those quite some time ago (surprisingly not too long after they notified applicants of decisions!)
  10. Congrats all, and thanks for the support still waiting on my WL school over here (probably won't hear any updates for another couple of weeks) but I'm putting in a deposit at another school just in case--both are great programs so all in all I'm feeling good.
  11. It's uncanny how similar your background/stats are to mine! FWIW i got waitlisted at Columbia and i'll most likely be attending Wagner at NYU. I also would like to work in private sector/govt relations possibly, and NYUW's program/classes/capstone fit the bill for the skills I hope to gain in pursuit of this career track. Good luck!
  12. I wouldn't say the information was "new", in any way, but it felt good to hear it from an alumni & current student (as opposed to just reading the school website). I was asking about the HPAM track specifically, with the hopes of entering the healthcare consulting industry. They mostly praised the career center for setting students up with internships (a big plus) and the classes for being directly applicable to work done in their fields (also another plus). I wouldn't rely too much on the career statistics and information on the website since it may not be representative of the entire population at Wagner, but I can say that creeping on a few LinkedIn profiles and reaching out to students/alumni in my desired fields/companies was very helpful. I would definitely encourage you to do the same for your field!
  13. I already put in a deposit for another school, but I'm willing to wait and see what happens with my WL school. While I am happy with the school whose offer I accepted, I would be very happy to receive an offer from my WL school. Both schools are in the same geographical region so I could wait until summer (although let's hope I don't have to... Knock on wood!)
  14. Congrats all who received acceptances off the waitlist! That's amazing news
