Berkeley offers everyone accepted to the Asian Studies MA program funding. Likewise you have a good shot at a GSI (TA in Berkeleyspeak) or GSR (RA) position during your second year. It also happens to be in the top 3 in Chinese/Japanese studies. Cal is by far the best value for a terminal MA.
