  1. I received a confirmation email the same day I sent mine.
  2. I received a "B" category with a 13. It would be very nice if I were to have that bumped up but I am happy with my Fellowship!
  3. If I did put in a timeline it was because it was a box to fill out that specifically asked for it. I would not have volunteered that information. I don't know if we are capped, though it's suggested one is done within 5 years (presumably because that is when all funding sources are exhausted if you're full time.)
  4. My stats (I'll edit this post when I get my letter): Received 20k/4 year SSHRC. Just completed 1st year PhD. 1 year PhD GPA was 4.15/4.3; I had less than a 4.0 for my cumulative MA GPA (3.5 years), though my last year was a 4.something (I think 4.08). 0 publications 12+ conferences, including 1 regional, 1 national, and 1 international 1 teaching course at major Canadian University, 5+ courses at Quebec CEGEP, over the last two years. Several guest lectures/invited panelist (Like Zaftig, my field is very specialized) 6 TAships 1 RAship 1 External fellowship during my MA (final year). This was my first time applying for a SSHRC.
  5. I called my graduate department (uOttawa) and they told me over the phone that I won a 4 year SSHRC. I'll post my stats when I receive the letter, as I'm not sure yet what my score was. I was too excited to remember to ask them.
  6. Congrats everyone! I'm still waiting....patiently. Kinda.
  7. Hi Alex - where did this info come from? (More specifically, were they all from the same university?)
  8. Every time twitter bings at me with a SSHRC tweet, I get anxious. The word "storyteller" will be forever in my nightmares.
  9. I sent an email to the department assistant this morning and she confirmed that we will know before they will if we have received an award. I also just returned from getting my mail, and there's nothing there of course. Wishful thinking. Mail comes at 10:30 every morning here, so I guess I can go do something productive for the next 22.5 hours.
  10. I am obsessively alternating between this page and twitter. And catching up on Game of Thrones, which seemed appropriate.
  11. Nope! I got the notification and started following them after. I'm not particularly twitter saavy, but I am searchable by the name I used on my application. I don't want to get my hopes up but that was kind of exciting. And maybe slightly creepy.
  12. I am. And oddly enough, SSHRC started following me on twitter. I'm not sure if that means anything.
  13. Ugh. I had a dream last night that SSHRC accidentally mailed our letters a week early and mine was sitting in my mailbox when I got home from class. And just as I tore the envelope apart, my alarm went off. DAMN THESE OMINOUS DREAMS! I thought I was handling the wait fine.
  14. I've scoured the statistics pages for past applicant success rates for my particular field, but i am curious as to find out how many from my university department specifically have received SSHRC after making it to nationals (i.e. percentage of successful out of the total)? As far as I know, from my cohort (1st year PhD), I am the only one who was bumped up (we are a small group). I don't know how many from the other cohorts have, however.
  15. They met for the entire week in Ottawa last week (not sure on the exact LOCATION, but I do know that the professor I know on the committee was there for the whole week adjudicating). I should add, however, that I do not know if she is on the committee for the MA applications or PhD application (or Post Doc).
