  1. Overall my experience was positive & I got the job I wanted right after graduating, so I can't complain. The TC program is pretty big, which is a both a strength and weakness in my opinion. The size means that there is a good variety of courses and a large alumni network, but it also means that there's a lot of competition for limited research opportunities and class sizes are on the large side. (I can't compare with other programs so it's hard to put these observations into perspective.) Another positive is that the program is very flexible, so you can narrow in on your particular interests. I think this helped me land the job I wanted as it was a good match for the study plan I had put together. It's also very flexible in terms of duration-- if you want to bang it out in a year, you can do that, but most students seem to stretch it out a bit to take advantage of NYC, internships opportunities, etc. At any rate, those are just a few of my thoughts. Good luck with the applications & enjoy!
  2. I recently completed the IED MA at TC. I'm inclined to say that you should include the GRE scores. Although not required, solid GRE scores might help with things like scholarships. (I don't know that. Just a thought.) Out of curiosity, do you have any international experience? As I recall, there were only a few in the program who were accepted right out of undergrad. Most domestic students have substantial international experience-- Peace Corps, teaching, NGO work, etc. I don't think it's necessarily a problem if you don't, but may be something to keep in mind as you write the SOP.
  3. In my case there was no mention of financial aid in the acceptance letter-- the award letter came about a week later. The good news is that I got lots more in scholarships than expected. Bad news (maybe?) is that there's no mention of federal loans. Here's hoping that information will come separately since I'd rather not have to deal with private loans. Anyone know if it's possible to get a headstart and begin in the summer session?
  4. Hello all... Did your award letters include explicit information about loans? Mine only mentions scholarship funds, so I'm not sure what that means.... was I not approved for federal loans? Anyone else planning to attend for IED/ICE? I'd love to hear about admitted students day if anyone is planning to make it. Sadly, I won't be able to go since I'm working in the Middle East.
