  1. You may want to complete FAFSA. Government loans such as Stafford provides susbsidize loans so you don't have to pay interest while you're in school. I think this kind of loan (vs. private) is better since it also gives you (I think) extra time after graduation to start paying for the loan. The financial aid institution of your school should be able to provide you with more info about this. Good luck with grad school!
  2. I started at a CC transferred to a public University and am now a PHD student. I'm so proud, grateful, and happy that I started at CC. It saved me money and I got a decent education that prepared me well for a 4-year University.
  3. You guys will be ok.. I was at the same position last year. It's been 9 months now and I'm surviving. Just hang tough and you'll get through.
  4. yup.. SFU is well know for their Psych and Law Program. As far as memory and eye witness-- Loftus is on of the leading experts in the field. Gary Wells works with Loftus so you may also want to check if he accepts student. Jodi Quas at UCI also does memory research involving children.
  5. A good source is the American-Psychology Law and Society website. They have tons of info about schools and other student related stuff. As for Clinical Psychology schools with emphasis on Forensic Psychology/ Law programs, you may want to check out: Simon Fraser University - they're pretty well known for their Psyc and Law Program University of Arizona (joint Psych and Law) University of Nebraska-Lincoln University of Alabama- Tuscaloosa (Clinical Child/Adult with emphasis on Law) Texas A&M Drexel University Good luck!

  7. Congratulations everyone! I'll be an official GPPI student in the fall as well. I must say I'm with you with the admissions hassles.
  8. Hi all-- For those of you wondering about the "sense of community" at GPPI-- in my experience, even thought it's a large cohort (100+), they have a lot of social events and everyone seems to know each other and get along really well. They even have a GPPI Prom. Professors are also accesible and some even go out of their way to help you (e.g., holding review sessions for exams without time limit). It's very expensive thought and that would be my main "con" for not attending GPPI. But I would not worry so much about the sense of community. Best of luck to everyone!
