  1. Grats, allybee. It's refreshing to see others going with schools that feel right over bottom-line best funding.Good luck with your search for supplemental funding- I'm in the same boat.
  2. Hey guys- this isn't perfectly in line with the thread, but SAIC folks, check it out!: http://hyperallergic.com/190950/is-the-school-of-the-art-institute-of-chicago-really-giving-kanye-west-an-honorary-doctorate/
  3. Actually, this played out much like I thought it would. The schools with more spaces and less funding love me
  4. I'm curious to see what people have been offered for funding specifically at SFAI and PNCA. Is anyone willing to disclose this info? I'm still in talks with both about finances and I'm hoping to get a better idea of what to aim for.
  5. I feel your pain. I just keep telling myself the money I'm making now will pay for my time in the program! With August being my estimated moving month, There's only a little more than four months to go...
  6. I would only accept if you decide you don't like any of the other offers. If it comes down to another year of creating, why not do your work within a FREE mfa program. If you end up liking the school, great-stay on with them. If not, leave and apply to other schools! Utilize the opportunity.
  7. They suggest using 46k as the yearly cost of attending- actual yearly tuition is about 41k, and being in SF.... well rent yearly will be about 10-13k.
  8. As I stated in the freak-out forum, I got the initial funding offer from SFAI today. They are offering 14k per year. Considering it's a bill of almost 46k, that's not all that much!

  10. Agreed. Email the account that notified you of the skype interview with your skype info. Be proactive here.
  11. Lots of possible scenarios could come in to play here. If your top choice also offers you top funding- of course it's a no-brainer. Unfortunately, that's not always the case! There are so many things to consider, I would always advise waiting to hear all the offers if finances matter. Waiting of course, is the hardest part! Indeed, I myself am waiting to hear about funding. As tempting as it is to start daydreaming about a location and looking in to the move, my current front-runner may end up with a lesser financial offer. Who knows!
  12. Hi, Madhini. I don't recall the pages, but I know people have said they were already interviewed and made offers from both Uconn and UOregon. I recall this because I too applied there and haven't heard anything from them! At this point, for those two schools, I'm personally assuming rejection. I do not know about the others off hand. Good luck!
  13. Thanks! I received the notification via postal mail.
  14. Acceptance letter from SFAI. Funding information yet to come.
  15. Yes, my slideroom does indeed say this. It is quite odd to have your letter addressed to multiple recipients. good luck with your other schools/endeavors!
