  1. Thank you all for the replies! My application page does say incomplete, but I guess that wouldn't be too much of a problem hopefully...
  2. Hello, I just found out that I didn't send my official GRE score for one of my school (Yale) which had a deadline of 1/2. Do you guys think they will still take my GRE scores? I'm probably going to email them but just wondering whether anyone made a similar mistake before so that I can send in the GRE score now. Thank you
  3. Hello, so is the final decision solely based on the interview or the combination of our LOR, academic records, and SOP? Thank you!
  4. Is that a generic email? Or can it be interpreted as an email for applicants who are unlikely to receive an invitation?
  5. Are you saying that for sys bio, the acceptance rate is possibly similar to before or are you trying to say that it is similar to the currently predicted BBS acceptance rate?
  6. Hello, Do you guys know how the interview proceeds at Harvard (BBS, system biology)? Is it an hour long interview? How many professors do I have to interview with? Do they go over your CV and ask questions based on that? Or is it really like a casual conversation where I get to "choose" the topic? Thank you!!
  7. Hello do you guys know what percent of applicants receive interview invitations for Harvard HILS(BBS, system biology) and what percent of those who received invitations gets accepted? Thank you!
  8. Thank you for your response! I've received my official GRE scores couple of weeks ago but I did not send them until last week. Do they want the official scores sent by ETS by the deadline or is it sufficient to just have the scores on my application?
  9. According to Stanford's Bioengineering website, it says Applications will not be accepted after the December 6, 2016 deadline. All supporting documents must be received by the application deadline at 11:59 pm. Our faculty will begin reviewing files immediately—applications without supporting materials will be considered incomplete. In order for your application to be competitive, ensure that all of your supporting materials will arrive no later than the application deadline. does that mean they won't review if the LOR and GRE scores do not arrive by the deadline?
  10. Hello, I'm not sure which GRE score I should send. I'm applying to Bioengineering PhD programs and aiming for schools such as Stanford, MIT, and Harvard. Will they look down more on low verbal scores than writing scores? V: 161 (88%) Q: 165(89%) W: 3.5 (42%) V: 156(72%) Q: 167(93%) W: 5.0 (93%) I'm sure I can raise my Verbal score to ~94% but wasn't sure whether they will take late scores.. Will my application considered incomplete if I retake the GRE and the score arrives late? I noticed that there was a section in the application where I could enter in future GRE test dates. Thank you!
  11. how do you guys add your awards and publications when you go over the character limit (280 character limit for Stanford)?
  12. I realized that I made mistake in my application after submitting it. If the deadline is Tuesday, is there anyway to possibly amend the typo? (I have "?" around my list of publications)..If not, will this disqualify me?...
  13. Hi, If my research proposal contains animal studies, is there a separate document that I have to fill out or do I only do that if I am awarded? Or are we not allowed at all to included animal studies in our proposal? Thanks!!
  14. My recent project is my master thesis project whereas what I consider old are projects done while I was an undergraduate. all my projects are related to mymajor. The problem is that my research interests developed over time and some of those projects became irrelevant to the research topic I want to pursue
