  1. Hello AmyWolfram, I've just got UT's offer, and have the same debating as yours. Don't know if you have decided yet or do you get any thought on it? I've been comparing tuition fee, living cost, courses, and co-op programs of these two programs. However, I think the real problem is what I am going to do in the future with the degree. I would like to work in historic research centers, historic museums, some local culture and history studio, or other public history related organizations. So it sounds traditional MLIS would more fit for me. In addition, UT's courses emphasize more on technology side. However, I don't know if getting a MI would have stronger capacity than other IT guys. Does any one have any thought on it?? Thanks!
  2. I've waited for official letter for a month and still haven't got yet. However, I need to reply the other school and deposit $300 by tomorrow. $300 is a big money for me.... But I'm worried there might be some problems considering my entering the school later, and if I don't spend $300 get an insurance, I would have no school option. How do you guys suggest on this dilemma?
  3. that's really a big money!! I've lived on my own aboard, but the cost of living was way lower there. I didn't do the accurate math about living in Montreal. Thanks for your advice. It really helps me make my mind!
  4. Ya, that means going in to debt... so I might just go with the affordable one. Thank!
  5. As for tuition fee and rent, I need to pay extra $8000/year for attending Mcgill. Since it's a two years program, I might need to spend more 16K on my graduate school.
  6. I've been accepted by these two programs, and is wondering which to go. UBC has cheaper tuition fee, more course options, and good co-op program. In addition, I could live at home. However, I really want to try living in Montreal, improving my French, and meet more diverse people. Is it silly to choose a program mainly because of the location? Does anyone have any advice about this? thanks!
  7. I heard back from around 5pm. BTW, does anyone know how long will it take for Mcgill reviewing the application?
  8. I just got the offer, so excited! In fact, I got the rejection from Alberta yesterday, and was deeply depressed....
