  1. I just turned down an unfunded offer at University of Washington, and I will almost certainly be taking myself off the waitlist at University of Minnesota tomorrow!
  2. Thank you, that's actually super helpful! I'm just going to pretend like it's a rejection.
  3. Quick question: Has anyone actually been in contact with CU-Boulder about the silence? I mean, I'm assuming everyone not accepted during the first round has been unofficially waitlisted, but I'm wondering if we emailed them if they could give us an indication of our chances...
  4. Thanks, that's good to hear! I figure I'll give them until the end of the week, but I will definitely be contacting them soon.
  5. I heard from WUSTL (rejection) and Carnegie Mellon (waitlisted) last week, so I'm not exactly in your boat. BUT, I still haven't heard anything from UC-Boulder, Ohio University, or U of Mississippi, and we're getting pretty damn close to the end of March. It's maddening!
  6. I got my Washington rejection today :-/ I'm still awaiting my rejection from Boulder, too, though. Unofficial waitlists are particularly cruel, aren't they?
  7. I'm perplexed as well! My status is still "submitted and paid." I think someone posted on the results page last year (or the year before... I can't remember which even though I just left the page) about the process. They say "all UW admits are being made on a sliding basis as of a few weeks ago. 2/3 of applicants were initially declined. The final 1/3 are being sifted through until all spots are filled. The committee wasn't scheduled to start meeting regarding funding decisions until 3/18/13. They did say that as soon as their admission decisions are made, the online profile is automatically updated, so that will be your first notification." I'm not sure that really helps, Kamisha, but I feel your confusion!
  8. Nothing here, and I was just thinking the same thing. I wonder if we'll have to wait until after april 15? I hope not because I have another offer elsewhere, but I'd prefer to go to Minnesota.
  9. This. I was thinking the same thing. I'm also still waiting! It's really difficult to finish reading for my 7 p.m. Zizek seminar when I'm refreshing my email twice a minute.
  10. On the page after you log in, there's a "status" link under the "action" box. My status still says "submiited & paid". Ugggghhh.
  11. To those who've been accepted so far, congratulations!! Would anyone mind telling me if your status on the website has changed now that you've been notified? My status still says "pending," and I'm worried Oregon's going to keep me hanging for ages.
  12. Hi everyone! I have also been waitlisted for Minnesota. I'm not sure how the waitlisting works either. I just got an email that said I was waitlisted, that they "had a very large applicant pool this year and can only admit a very small number of students at a time," and that they "will keep [me] apprised as move up the list." And it included a YouTube video about English at Minnesota. (Also, FWIW, my subfield is 20/21st century and postcolonial studies.) Did anyone get a less vague email than that??
