  1. Thank you lgwslp! I know, it's really stressful to try to make a decision when you don't even have all of your options yet. I was hoping that God would make it clear too, so it was hard to find out I was wait listed because I really just wanted a yes or a no. Just remember, even if God doesn't make it completely clear, He is with you every step of the way. And He isn't going to leave your side, He will go with you to whatever school you choose! For me, that was such a simple but needed reminder. Best of luck in whatever decision you make! And thank you learning curve! I think you're right. I'm excited for this opportunity!
  2. Hopefully this is helpful, I go to SJSU currently (I'm an undergrad). Most of the posts that I have seen in the results forum have been from fellow SJSU undergrads (we were notified before anyone else about acceptances to the Master's program). It also looks like some people have been hearing back about the Extended Master's program at SJSU. Don't worry if you haven't heard yet, they probably haven't sent anything out yet. Although, to be honest with you, last year SJSU took about 20 Master's students and from what I've heard 15 of those were SJSU internal applicants and only 5 had gone somewhere else for their undergrad.
  3. Glad I could help future LLU applicants! I am in the same situation as nik24 and lgwslp. I have an acceptance that I need to confirm by April 15th. I called LLU and asked if they let people know as they hear back from those that were accepted (in other words, is there a chance to hear anything before the 15th?) and Diana said it is rare that they hear anything before the 15th from those that they accepted. She said there was a chance though. I am accepting at the school I got in at, because I was offered a research position. LLU would be amazing to attend…but they don't have any research projects or training grants.
  4. The interview question was "what do you prefer, working in a group or by yourself?" and be prepared to give specific examples and why. During my interview, the professor revealed that both are very important qualities to have and are both heavily used in their program because of their "problem based learning" approach. So, if I were to interview again I would probably give some sort of qualifying statement that acknowledges the importance and value of working as both, but it does seem like they would want a specific answer, so maybe say which one you have more experience with. The essay was something about learning through advice from family and friends vs through personal experience. It was very vague and tough to respond in only an hour. I have no idea if they'll use the same prompt. Either way, for the interview and the essay, I would be sure to have specific examples of relevant experiences ready to integrate into whatever they ask you - either in the essay or the interview. Also, be prepared to say why you want to be an SLP and why you want to go to Loma Linda. Good luck!
  5. It came in the mail. It didn't say anything about if their wait list is numbered/if we can ask. I am also wait listed at San Diego State, and they specifically said not to call ask what position we are on the wait list. I am just wondering when the deadline for people to decide is, so we have an idea of when we might hear about a spot. I still have to hear from 2 more schools, hoping for good news!
  6. Just got the letter today, confirming I am on the wait list. Trying not to be sad, because I know if its meant to be, I will get a spot. Best wishes to everyone and congratulations to any acceptances!
  7. Someone called and was told they were accepted! I saw this on the results portion of grad cafe. They said decisions are being mailed this week. I wonder if we will get something in the mail saying we are on the wait list.
  8. Hmmmm…I would just assume they are still in the process of making decisions.
  9. Yeah, I am surprised that someone got an email, but we didn't. I might call by the end of the week if I haven't heard anything. I always hate calling though because I don't want to bother them (they probably get a lot of calls/emails asking). I would think that they'd send out acceptances if they already decided who to wait list. Unless everyone that was accepted doesn't use grad cafe! haha
  10. So if you go to: https://myllu.llu.edu/home/students/ and where it says Student Services, click LOGIN then enter your info and login click Apply for Admission then click Complete or Update Application then click Application Status Hopefully that works for you!
  11. I am the same! I didn't get an email, but when I checked online, I saw that it said I have been placed on the Alternate List. I haven't heard of anyone getting accepted or denied so far…so I am almost wondering if maybe everyone's status says that? Is anyone planning on calling or emailing LLU to confirm? I am curious how many people are on the wait list, and if they will tell us what "number" we are on the list (so we know how likely it is we might get in or not - I know some schools will tell you that you're third on the wait list for example). To check the status, login into LLU student services with your social security number and pin number from when you made your application.
  12. Lillian, Nope! Still waiting. I'm not counting on getting in….but I definitely want to! It's almost been two weeks, sooo we should be hearing soon! I'll let you know what/when I hear!
  13. I'm not sure about out-of-state tuition. Their financial aid office is really helpful though, so if you can't find the answer on the website, try calling. They have on-campus housing and there are lots of housing options in the surrounding areas (it's a relatively cheap area to live compared to the rest of CA)
  14. No, the transitional masters who are accounted for in the 30 accepted students were accepted last year. They have to do a "catch-up" year and then they join the regular Master's students. Sorry if that was confusing. They take new transitional Masters students every year. So I am sure you're right about the timeline.
