  1. They haven't been responding to my emails! Did you happen to hear any news yesterday?
  2. The seem very hesitant to detail stipend or assistantships information. How do you, or anyone, think they proceed with the "weeding out"?
  3. Melissa Jo, did you have to email IIT for them to tell you about the 2k work study and half tuition? I was accepted there too and didn't get any email. From what I gather, there is competition for the TA and ga positions at IIT but what does that really mean??
  4. In addition to any info on Roebuck's schools, any news from Georgia tech, UGA, or GWU (waitlisted)? And Roebuck, I was accepted to Roosevelt too! What are your opinions on their program? I'm still on the fence about joining a new program but it can't be that much different than most.
  5. Soooooo anyone else tired of waiting ????
  6. Sorry about FIU, it's a shame that communication is so hard especially when life/career decisions are being made! In general, most schools don't respond back to admissions questions very frequently. I've been emailing GaTech, U of Georgia and GWU over some months now and nada. At this point a rejection is probable but I can't deny offers without knowing for sure. :/
  7. I'm so curious as to what details lead I the article retractions! Unfortunately all that hard work from those people is discredited. I wouldn't think that FIU would refund app fees. That's more the graduate admissions office's money and is probably lost to the fray.
  8. Haven't heard from Georgia tech or GWU yet either. Also, IIT at least what they told me, was that they do not fund students. There may be some partial tuition waiver for the firsts year and MAYBE positions for TA or RA, for which you MAYBE might get a stipend. They seem to be very vague about how much, and also that IT IS competitive so no guarantee of getting those positions in the first place. GMU was my top school but got rejected from it. You should definitely go to GMU, good stipend and assistantships from what I've heard.
  9. Thanks for the advice! I am no where close to making a decision yet but that may be path I go down
  10. An MS would be an option as well but I had my heart set on PHD and an academic path. I appreciate the offers I've gotten but it seems a little unrealistic for them to assume that I can pay the 150-200+ thousand in tuition and living expenses. Even with some combination of scholarships and assitantships, I would still need loans.
  11. Congrats on everyone's acceptances and hope everyone had/is having fun visiting school! I'm still waiting for some university responses but I wanted to get some peoples opinions. Both school I've been accepted to give partial tuition waiver for only the first year. One provides a little funding for the first year (maybe a month of living costs) and the other has no funding but "limited opportunities" for TA and RA positions, so no guarantee of a stipend from that. Neither are great but I really want to be in a Phd program. What do people think? Any ideas on how I may help fund the next few years?
  12. Has anyone heard from GWU lately? I know there should have been interviews but I was wait listed and wanted to see if anyone accepted offers or are still waiting
  13. Did you email George Mason before your rejection? The results page shows that some people found out that way and I've been hesitant to email then as well. If you emailed a POI, could you let me know who they are? Thanks!
  14. So got an email from UGA (grad office) saying that mid-late march they will send out their final decisions. GWU also sent an email saying they are conducting interviews soon but depending on those outcomes, they may interview other applicants. Just updating everyone.
