Calpoly SLO is really well-known for their science programs (especially engineering or CS). They're very technical, hand-on, and affordable for in-state students. My friend (CS major) in fact got a job even before graduation and he said a lot of people in his company (in SV) were from Calpoly SLO and companies think very highly of Calpoly CS students. I'd advice you to take Calpoly SLO and SJSU into consideration. UCs are overrated and too much theory rather than real-life practice

Congrats for the acceptance. What department did you apply to? And would you be attending without any financial aid? Did you do the FAFSA?

Hmmm I contacted them again about FAFSA and they said "You are more than welcome to fill out the FAFSA at a later date. The form is not needed until about mid-April." And as I've heard/searched, most grad students for masters don't get financial aid, they get loans though and fafsa only helps determine the family contribution....I'm not sure how they decided about the scholarship, need-based or something else...Decision is not in yet....I'm nervous!!!!!!!!

Hey, I called them too and they said I did not need to do FAFSA or CSS profile, all applicants will be considered for FA. What did they tell you??? Have you heard anything from them yet???
