  1. I got the Fellowship! Still in shock. See you in September Tanzania. Congrats everyone!!!
  2. I'm definitely not feeling like they're going to make announcements today, I think it's going to be next Friday. That's not going to stop me from having a heart attack every time I get an email for the next week.
  3. Radio silence from Boren except an email on the 2nd about a change in how much money they would allow for domestic study with AFLI. Anyone else get an email like this? My advisor thinks announcements will go out April 25th. The wait is nearly over.
  4. Yes, sorry it was specifically for UF domestic African Languages Initiative program. Don't worry! @aepafrica - You're right, I meant that it seemed to have been sent to all AFLI domestic applicants. I applied for Swahili, what about you?
  5. I did as well. Seemed to have been sent to everyone? I think they're trying very hard not to tip anyone off about selection. Ah well, only 1 more month of waiting.
  6. Can you say a bit more about this? After the initial, general email that everyone got asking for updates on budget and dates, you got a second email asking for even more specific info?
  7. I'm a fellowship applicant and got one as well. They did say everyone receives it, but that means it's March and they haven't made any cuts? Not sure if they're just playing mind games or what.
  8. I know it's not even time for the mythical budget emails (and maybe Fellowship applicants didn't even receive them last year?), but my anxiety is getting the better of me so I thought I'd post rather than rereading the 2013-2014 and 2012-2013 Boren threads. Again. I didn't get my letter of affiliation in time to submit with my application, although the internship I got was basically exactly what I spelled out in my application as being likely. I'm super stressed about this, because I feel like not having an official affiliation is a pretty easy way to make a cut. I called IIE last week to see if they would consider considering it as an addendum to the my application and the answer was a brusque 'no way' (not unexpected). My awards advisor said that if I get a budget update email, that's pretty much my only shot at inserting some new info to my application. Thoughts, commiseration, general anxiety welcome.
