  1. The PowerPrep provides the exact interface you will receive on the real GRE. So try a practice test on PowerPrep II. Other than that ther are absolutely no format options available. You are given a text box to type and are not allowed to change anything (font, size, spacing etc.) As for the topics, there are no common topics. It's just random. If you have enough time just look at all the topics and try to come up with sort of outline (your opinion, examples etc) for each topic. This way you will know "what to write" on any topic you are presented during the test and you can be able to save time as well. Hope this helps. And do the PowerPrep II practice tests!!
  2. Wow that's soothing! As long my score is above average; satisfied! Thank you AdilB990
  3. So my verbal is not that bad! That's a relief...Thank you!
  4. Okay, so recently I read a few posts on the internet regarding rejection of visas etc just because the GRE verbal is low and their TOEFL score is good. They even suspect that you are not the one who took the TOEFL and can put a ban on you for lying and fraud! I mean seriously..!!! Well, after reading such posts I got scared! I just got my GRE and TOEFL scores. Here they are: GRE: Quant 163 (87 percentile) Verbal 155 (66 percentile) Total: 318/340 TOEFL: Reading 29 Listening 27 Speaking 29 Writing 28 Total: 113/120 Other than that my academic record is: GPA: 3.84/4.00 Department Topper and belonging to top 3% of the entire university. As you can see that I have a low GRE verbal but a good TOEFL. Do you think this can cause trouble for me? Though I come from Pakistan but I believe that I have strong command on English. Just don't knwo what went wrong during the GRE! Any ideas? Or advice?? Plus I don't want to retake the GRE!
  5. Okay so I just wanted to add that I got my scores for GRE and TOEFL. GRE: Quant 163 (87 percentile) Verbal 155 (66 percentile) Total: 318/340 TOEFL: Reading 29 Listening 27 Speaking 29 Writing 28 Total: 113/120 GPA: 3.84/4.00 Department Topper and belonging to top 3% of the entire university Strong Letters of Recommendation (university is cooperating very well Alhamdullilah) Think I have a good enough Letter of Motivation. So will not be retaking the GRE! Thank you all for your helpful advises! May Allah (God) bless you all!
  6. Thank you for responding! I have messaged you my SOP draft! Please review it and suggest me improvements.
  7. Hi all, I am new to the forum! Just a brief intro; I am a 20 year old Pakistani (female) currently enrolled in the final year of BS Computer Science degree program. I am analysing my options for a masters abroad. The fields I will be targeting are Computer Sciences and Cognitive Sciences. I have a GPA of 3.84 (4.00) and belong to the top 1% of my department (actually I am the topper). I recently took the test (for the 1st time) and got a score of 163 Q and 155 V. Not really satisfied! I had troubles preparing for the verbal as I am not a native English speaker. But I am still shocked as my English skills are actually very good or I thought! I am going to take TOEFL this week and am hoping for a 100+ score. I would further like to add that I am real low on financial resources, been studying until now on scholarships (merit ones). Even the test fees were hard to pay! I will not be retaking my GRE and instead will work on my SOP. I have made a draft version and would like to ask if anyone here is willing to critique it for me. Like what to add? What to delete? Edit? So please leave a reply, I will PM you my SOP!
  8. Hamza Khan, I have seen a few programs in UK and Europe which require the GRE. As for the working part, I am not really sure! I think I will not likely stay in Europe after studies. However I wish to work in UK but not directly after my masters degree.
  9. Thank you so very much for your insights and advice!! So I decided not to retake it and will just work on my SOP instead! Thank you once again!! I feel more confident now!

Oh and I will not be applying is US universities. Most probably Europe, UK and Turkey!
