Hey everyone,
I'm applying this fall for SLP in Canada and in the USA. Since I graduated from my undergrad in 2010, I am having difficulty finding a second academic reference to fulfill the requirement. When I inquire to programs about only being able to provide one academic reference while providing GREAT clinical references (from audiologist and an SLP), all I ever get is wishy-washy answers as to if that would be frowned upon. My personal opinion thinks that recent, amazing clinical references would be great for my application, but I'm not actually sure. I could MAYBE get a generic, not-so-good academic reference from a prof years ago who would not remember me...at best. I feel at a huge disadvantage since profs that would have provided me references are on medical leave or away on sabbatical. SO, I'm wondering, have there been applicants out there who have been granted acceptance with only one academic reference?? Or, am I basically outta luck here?
Thanks everyone!
