  1. Being a SLP is a dream however applying to 11 schools this year and getting rejections from all but two so far(still waiting) is highly discouraging. "Try again next year" isn't always an option when I already racked up 42k in student debt and loans kick in this November. Getting a career is my only option now. Not saving another 1000 for applications... I feel all of your pain and seeing more acceptances to schools you applied to while you don't hear back/already received the rejection letter is hard. It's hard to be happy for people while you sit back and watch as your dream falls down the drain because to keep applying and volunteer more is just not an option that can be pursued.
  2. Crossing my fingers it comes tomorrow then! And that's early, I'm shocked its so soon
  3. Where are you located? I'm trying to see if I just didn't get it yet or I'm SOL
  4. It says it's been under review for quite awhile now. I'm going to need a serious deep tissue massage after all notifications are received from these schools from all the stress it's causing. Haha
  5. Does anyone else's CUNY Brooklyn portal say the school is still reviewing their application and that "Admissions will notify you of the decision on your application via mail" as well as to keep checking back for updates? Is it safe to say it's a rejection since it says they will notify via mail?
  6. It's so emotionally and psychologically draining even just one year of applications. Being an SLP is my dream and it's so unfair that just because a panel says people are better-I will never get the chance. I've had teachers tell me my therapy materials and treatment plans are amazing and I would be great, I'm just an awful test taker and that'll be he deciding factor :/
  7. Some programs let you apply even when you don't have these completed and can complete them during your masters program -at an undergrad level- you just have to read the fine print before applying!
  8. With acceptances, wait lists, interviews and rejections being sent out- say you only get rejections. One of my LOR writers suggested post bacc work, but how worth it is that extra money? Also how do you even apply after you get all the rejections? I haven't explored it yet since I'm hoping I really won't have to, but any insight?
  9. The email they sent about five weeks ago said "two to three weeks" hopefully it's not all the way until March! I'm going crazy
  10. Just giving all of you advice to definitely check up on all of your applications! I went to three colleges(one during high school, one was a mistake semester-school was awful, and the one i'm getting my degree from). Only the school I am getting my degree from managed to send all of my transcripts when I requested them to be sent two months ago. I received receipts from the two other schools saying they sent them- but they were never received and turned out they never sent them when I questioned what transcripts they sent out. KEEP UP ON ALL OF YOUR SUPEMENTAL MATERIALS.
  11. How can you tell if a school saves seats or prefers to give graduate acceptances to only those students that attended their school for their undergraduate degree or even if a school prefers to accept instate residents over out of state residents? I don't want to waste my money applying to schools that are only going to accept a few students that did not attend their school for their undergrad.
  12. thank you all so much! Reading this made me much more relieved. So many people on here have 3.9 GPAs, it's intimidating
  13. Has anyone been accepted to any grad programs with a "b" average? My cumulative gpa is a 3.3 right now and a 3.6 gpa in my major. Has anyone been accepted anywhere with these stats? I'm worried I'm wasting my time with even applying anywhere.. I'm applying for fall 2015
