  1. I keep trying to use Ctrl-V to scroll down in vim :( #formerPicoUserProblems
  2. Hi Gradcafe, Last year, to thank the Gradcafe community, I gave away a short guide I wrote about grad school applications and interviews. I'm thinking of doing it again this year. The guide if based on my two rounds of applications - the unsuccessful first round where I got rejected from almost every school, and the second round where I got into Stanford. If you're interested, just leave your email here: http://goo.gl/forms/0oVORZYSSF If you can't wait, it's also available here, free if you have kindle unlimited http://www.amazon.com/Get-into-Graduate-School-application-ebook/dp/B00NAJQBDI/ Cheers!
  3. Hi all, I recently finished a PhD at Stanford, and I've compiled what I learned going through two rounds of the application and interview process (lessons learned from a first disastrous round, compared to my later successful attempt), as well as from serving as a student member of the admissions committee for my department. As a way of paying it forward to the gradcafe community, I had a short giveaway of this guide to people in the interview forum, and thought I'd repeat this in the applications forum. If you PM me with your email address I'd be glad to share a short PDF with you. Alternatively, if you don't want to wait for my reply, you can read it here. Cheers and good luck!
  4. Thanks for the huge response, and for everyone who sent me ideas on how to improve! I'll no longer be sending out the PDF, but you can read it here free if you have Amazon prime. Please let me know if you have any feedback!

  6. I'm a recent Psych PhD, and I'm thinking of compiling sample SOPs and edits into an ebook. I would be willing to review yours if you let me include them in this project (anonymously, if preferred)! PM me if interested.
