  1. Thanks for the information. I definitely see your point. I will weigh the amount of time and cost into my decision.
  2. I really appreciate your input. I am trying to rationalize which is the best option and you bring up some good questions about the debt. I will continue to mull it over.
  3. Hi, I know most of people here are interested PhD programs, but hopefully someone would know a little bit about the quality of Master programs. So far, I got several offers and the ones I'd like to attend are Stat from NCSU and Biostat from Harvard. The pros and cons that I can think of are listed: NCSU: 1 year program ( May to May), 30 credits (10 courses), need to take qualify at the end, no thesis. Good location, lots of pharmaceutical companies around, cheap tuition and cost of living. Harvard: 2 years, 80 credits ( appr. 12 courses?). expensive tuition and cost of living. My focus is to find a job after graduation. I am afraid that even with the degree from Harvard "Biostat" will leave me much fewer options in getting a job compared with "Stat" degree from NCSU. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thank you in advance.
  4. For whom with the same concern, I got an emailing stating that the deadline to accept the offer was Mar. 17th. ( Emm, I am here answering my own question:-P)
  5. Thanks @ar_rf ! What seems fishy to me is that the lady from the Grad College refused to send me written confirmation >_< Anyway, hopefully I will hear back from other places soon. Good luck to everyone!
  6. Hi, Does anybody know if there is a deadline for accepting an offer? I got admitted to NCSU's master program, but I didn't see such information on the admission letter. It's very early to make the decision as most of schools I applied haven't gotten back to me. I called the grad school, and the lady there said the deadline for accepting the offer was the first day of the class, but she wouldn't give me a written confirmation. I have also heard from various sources that there is a April 15 Resolution, but not sure if it applies to non-funded Master program. Thanks!
