  1. This recommendation comes under the heading of "almost free": I see today that Greenlight Test Prep has dropped their fee from a hundred bucks to $30. http://greenlighttestprep.com/prices I paid the full price a few months ago, but I don't feel ripped off. I got more than 500 videos on math and verbal. Big deal. Black Friday sale? Looks like they just dropped the price hugely to capture the market. Fair enough. PD
  2. VOCABULARY help... Very funny (and helpful) series of cartoons called "Extreme Words" at this Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Greenlight-Test-Prep/423643471046484 Obviously you have to have a FB account to be able to see it. But who doesn't?
  3. Unfortunately, the AWA section is not a reflection of whether or not you're a good writer. It sounds harsh to say so, but it's solely a reflection on whether or not you can write IN THE WAY THEY WANT YOU TO WRITE. That means you have to know the structure inside and out, and just adapt that format to whatever the passage is they give you. I've spent a bunch of hours with Greenlight's free AWA videos: http://greenlighttestprep.com/module/gre-analytical-writing I don't think my writing is any better, but I KNOW that my AWA section is waaaaaaaay better. Practice makes perfect, but the benefit of knowing how to write in the way they want you to write is that my practice essays are easier. I know what to do right away, and don't freeze up the way I did the first time.
  4. Math is my Kryptonite. That said, I'm - FINALLY - making headway with the guys at Greenlight. I started with the quantitative comparison section, all of which are free video lessons: http://greenlighttestprep.com/module/gre-quantitative-comparison For a hundred bucks (on a sale) I bought all of the rest of the math sections (stats, probability, geometry, etc.).
  5. I got the most bang for my buck (i.e. NO bucks) from http://www.greenlighttestprep.com. It's all video lessons and practice questions, with an awesome study guide. The quality of instruction is higher than anything else I found. I'm a math guy, so I needed help with the verbal stuff. I focussed on the free analytical writing materials here: http://greenlighttestprep.com/module/gre-analytical-writing then expanded to RC, TC and SE. I watched all of the free videos (there are many, in every module), and eventually paid the full price for the verbal modules when they had a sale. Phil
