I will be starting graduate school in the spring (had to postpone entrance for personal reasons). Since I have some free time on my hands, I have started my application for the Ford pre-doctoral fellowship. I am having trouble with the proposal essay. I have some idea of what I am going to be doing during graduate school but I dont have a specific project. How detailed does the proposal essay need to be? At this point I'm thinking of choosing a lab from my program and coming up with a "project." If anyone can share their experience on writing this part of the application. I've searched for sample essays but have not been able to find any. Any information would be helpful.
